Syed M. Hasan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences). He earned his PhD in Economics from Ohio State University in 2014.

Hasan’s doctoral research focused on spatial policy instruments and firms’ productivity. His current research areas include:

• Provision of drinking water
• Estimating the economic cost of traffic congestion
• Residential carbon emissions associated with large urban centers

He has authored several publications in international peer-reviewed journals.

Before transitioning to academia, Hasan worked with the civil service of Pakistan.
